QCINCA has signed a purchase agreement for this 2024 to incorporate the low carbon certified Hydrated Alumina from Alcoa, known as EcoSource NMA. This agreement underscores Química del Cinca’s commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility, contributing to a more sustainable future for the water treatment sector.
EcoSource NMA from Alcoa is the world’s first and only low-carbon alumina brand. It is sourced from Alcoa’s global refining system, which has an average carbon dioxide equivalent intensity (CO2e) that is below 0.6 tons per ton of alumina produced, which includes Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions from bauxite mining and alumina refining.
This agreement adds to the actions that Química del Cinca is taking to reduce the carbon footprint of its products and align with the decarbonization objectives of the European Union within the Sustainable Development Program.
