Química del Cinca has signed a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) with the energy company ENGIE Spain for the supply of renewable energy in the production plant from January 1, 2020.
The signing of contracts for the sale of green energy or PPA is a new way of supply, which increases the commitment to environmental sustainability.
With this agreement, Química del Cinca guarantees to cover a large part of its consumption with renewable energy, which means a very important reduction of CO2 emissions into the atmosphere.
This commitment joins the actions being carried out by Química del Cinca to align with the objectives of decarbonization of the European Union within the Sustainable Development Program. Actions such as the improvement of the energy efficiency of the processes, the optimization of water consumption, and the improvement in waste management, in application of criteria of circular economy and corporate social responsibility.
